WHITINGHAM, Vt. (AP) - Police say a driver died in Vermont after she lost control of her car and it landed in a creek on its roof.

Police said 66-year-old Jean Ellis, of Whitingham, was traveling north on Route 112 in town on Wednesday when she failed to navigate a turn. The vehicle went off the road and overturned as it went down a 10-foot retaining wall along a creek. The vehicle landed on its roof in shallow water.

Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene.



The crash is under investigation.
