Authorities ID woman whose body was found in burning house

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a woman whose body was found by firefighters in the kitchen of her southwestern Omaha home.

The Omaha World-Herald reports that the woman’s been identified as 71-year-old Mary Zukaitis.

The blaze was reported around 11:20 p.m. Friday. Arriving firefighters spotted light smoke coming from the house, found the fire and also found the body. Firefighters had the flames under control within minutes.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
