GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Three people have been hurt after a fuel pump at a Glendale gas station sparked a fire.

Glendale fire officials say the incident happened Monday morning at a gas station near 67th and Olive avenues.

Glendale Fire Department spokeswoman Ashley Losch told AZFamily.com that people were working on a transformer when it caught fire.



Losch says two people had to be airlifted to hospitals for severe burns. A third person was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Their conditions were not immediately available.

Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the blaze.

The intersection is closed while crews go over the scene.
