President Trump said Friday the “people will not stand for” an unfavorable report from special counsel Robert Mueller, Fox Business reported.
In an interview with “Mornings with Maria,” the president touted his election win in 2016 before he chastised former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
“A deputy who didn’t get any votes appoints a man who didn’t get any votes. He’s gonna write a report on me,” Mr. Trump said. “Because we have an attorney general who nobody can believe, he didn’t tell me, but he recused himself.”
The president continued, “I have a deputy appoints a man to write a report on me to make a determination on my presidency? People will not stand for it.”
Mr. Trump reasserted that there was no collusion with Russia or obstruction in the 2016 presidential election.
“For two years we’ve gone through this nonsense ’cause there’s no collusion with Russia … and there’s no obstruction,” he said.
Speculation has circulated that Mr. Mueller’s investigation into possible collusion between Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia has reached its end and will be handed to Attorney General William P. Barr soon.
The House voted 420-0 to urge Mr. Barr to publicly release as much of the report as he can, consistent with the law, and to release the full findings to Congress.
