MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) - The public is invited to meet with national, state, and community partners to learn more about contaminants that have been found in water and other community health issues.
The Southern New Hampshire PFAS Community Health Fair is being held Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Merrimack High School.
The compounds known as PFAS have turned up increasingly in public water systems and private wells. Federal toxicologists say PFAS appear linked to cancers and other problems.
Organizers of the fair say a broad array of perspectives and experiences will be shared from government and research organizations, plus health education, outreach and advocacy groups.
