LEE, Mass. (AP) - A survivor of the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting in Connecticut and the parent of a victim will be among the panelists of a school safety discussion in Massachusetts.
The Berkshire Eagle reports the “Safe and Sound Schools” talk is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lee High School. Parents and educators are encouraged to attend.
Speakers will include Michele Gay, the mother of a student killed at Sandy Hook. Natalie Hammond and Connecticut State Trooper Dan Jewiss will also join the discussion. Hammond taught at Sandy Hook and was wounded in the shooting. Jewiss was the lead investigator in the case.
The Southern Berkshire Educational Future, made up of several Berkshire County schools, is sponsoring the event.
