Alex Ovechkin has always been big in Washington. Adding a Stanley Cup to his resume, though, is taking the Capitals captain’s celebrity to a whole new level.

Ovechkin and Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby will visit NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Monday. The telecast begins at 11:35 p.m.

On Saturday, Ovechkin threw out the first pitch (on two tries) at Nationals Park and later paraded around the District to celebrate the Capitals’ Stanley Cup win.

Ovechkin won the Conn Smythe Trophy, awarded to the most valuable player in the playoffs.  Holtby was dominant in the postseason, allowing only 2.16 goals per game.
