WILMINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A former southern Vermont high school is in the process of becoming a community center.

The former Twin Valley High School in Wilmington closed in June 2014.

Old School Enrichment Council board member Janet Boyd says they’re hopeful a series of upgrades will make it more welcoming and convenient for tenants.

Boyd tells the Brattleboro Reformer the goal is have rooms that could be used for music lessons and art lessons or activities like yoga, Tai chi or Taekwondo.

The group is also talking to artists and educational organizations about using space in the building.

The renovations are being paid for through donations and fundraisers.
