PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A West Warwick man is facing a felony assault charge after allegedly pulling a knife out during a fight in downtown Providence.

Police tell the Providence Journal responded to Westminster and Mathewson streets at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday for a report that a man was being chased by another man with a knife.

One man said 25-year-old Kenneth Walker had pulled a knife on him after the two men agreed to fist fight in the alley behind City Hall. Police say the men had a dispute that dated back several years.

Officers arrested Walker and charged him with felony assault.

It’s unclear when he’ll be arraigned or if he has a lawyer.
