LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a 25-year-old man was shot dead during a narcotics-related robbery at an apartment complex in western Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the Clark County coroner’s office identified the man as Martell Williams who died Wednesday evening at a complex on Sahara Avenue.

Williams’ ex-girlfriend Karlee Merrick says he was a good father to his 6-year-old daughter and her 8-month-old daughter. She says he worked hard and kept multiple jobs in order to provide for his family.

Las Vegas police say no arrests have been made in connection to the death as of Thursday.

According to the newspaper, Williams’ death marks the 17th homicide investigated by Las Vegas police this year.
