MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) - A 26-year-old southwest Idaho high school teacher is facing charges after police say they found evidence she was having sex with a 17-year-old male student.

Meridian police on Tuesday arrested Rebecca E. Mason-Cales of Boise and booked her into the Ada County Jail. She’s facing six counts of felony sexual battery of a minor child.

West Ada School District officials say they received an anonymous email concerning the relationship between the Mountain View High School teacher and a student. School officials then contacted the Meridian Police Department.

It’s not clear from online jail or court records if Mason-Cales has an attorney.
