ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - One of the nation’s largest faith-based health care systems is changing its name.

Officials with Adventist Health System said Tuesday that the hospitals, urgent-care centers and doctors’ practices it runs will be renamed AdventHealth starting next year.

The Altamonte Springs, Florida-based company has 46 hospital campuses and 80,000 workers in nine states primarily in the South and Midwest.

In Florida, the company owns dozens of hospitals, urgent-care centers and doctors’ practices under the Florida Hospital name.

The health care system has its roots in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
