BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The University of Vermont and the Albany College of Pharmacy are teaming up to make it possible for students to get a bachelor’s degree and a pharmacy doctorate in seven years, rather than the usual eight.

The agreement begins with students beginning their undergraduate study at UVM in Burlington this year. The first year students would be eligible to join the pharmacy program would be 2020.

The Albany College of Pharmacy has campuses in Albany, New York, and Colchester.

Students accepted into the program will attend UVM for three years and then enroll at the pharmacy college’s Colchester campus for their final four years of study.

Students will earn their bachelor’s degree from UVM upon satisfactory completion of their first year at the pharmacy college.
