REDMOND, Ore. (AP) - Central Oregon authorities say rodent droppings on food packaging are among the violations found at a regional emergency center set up during the solar eclipse in August.
The Bulletin reports (https://bit.ly/2fgNvOL ) in a story on Friday that Deschutes County Health Services inspectors found 14 violations at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center kitchen serving about 175 emergency responders.
Authorities stationed police and firefighters from Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties at the site from Aug. 16 through Aug. 23 to deal with a large number of visitors drawn to the region for the solar eclipse.
Other violations found during an Aug. 16 inspection include cooked food placed near raw meat and out-of-date supplies.
Authorities say fairgrounds officials immediately took action after learning of the problems and did a good job.
