BOISE, Idaho (AP) - An Idaho prosecutor says Boise police justifiably used lethal force during last year’s shootout that left a suspect dead and two police officers injured.
Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs announced Friday that there was insufficient evidence to support a criminal charge against any of the law enforcement officers involved in the shooting.
On November 11, police were Police were searching a Boise neighborhood for 33-year-old Marco Romero, who was wanted in connection with a separate shooting , when the shootout began.
Romero’s gunfire struck Cpl. Kevin Holtry, causing him to lose a leg and to be paralyzed from the waist down. Cpl. Chris Davis was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg and police K-9 Jardo died several days after the shootout.
Romero died in the shootout.
