HIGHGATE, Vt. (AP) - Officials say a fire has heavily damaged a pair of barns in the town of Highgate in northern Vermont.
Firefighters from eight towns responded Saturday night to the blaze on Route 7 North.
The cause of the fire was unknown. Officials were going through the remains of the barns to determine if animals were hurt.
The fire was big enough to mobilize the Red Cross. Volunteers provided water and snacks to more than 60 firefighters who responded.
