SOUTH TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) - Authorities suspect a homeless man was drunk when he fell into a river and died.

South Toms River police were called to Mathis Park on Thursday afternoon after a person reported that a man had fallen into the Toms River. The man was found floating face down.

The Ocean County prosecutor’s office says surveillance video showed 51-year-old Edward Kosar stumbling and having trouble walking from apparent intoxication before he fell into the river.

Kosar was living in a wooded area near the river.
