BARTOW, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man has been sentenced to four years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run crash.

The Ledger reports that 66-year-old John Haag May Jr. was sentenced Monday. He pleaded no contest last month to leaving the scene of an accident involving a death.

Authorities say 52-year-old Tamera Persong was walking across a Winter Haven street in February 2015 when she was struck and killed by a vehicle. Surveillance video showed May parking his car and walking back toward Persong, then leaving before police arrived.
