TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Tulsa firefighters say one person is dead after a fire occurred at a guest house rented at a midtown residence.

The Tulsa World reports that firefighters discovered the unidentified person Monday morning while extinguishing the fire. A dog was also discovered dead.

Tulsa Fire Capt. Stan May says it took firefighters 20 minutes to bring the flames under control. He says the guest house sustained severe damage, but that the main residence was unaffected by the fire.

The cause and source of the fire weren’t immediately available Monday morning. Firefighters have not yet released the identity of the person who died.
