LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Board of Education has reversed a panel’s decision that recommended revoking the charter for a school in southwest Little Rock.

Covenant Keepers College Preparatory School can continue to operate after the board’s decision Tuesday. The board reversed the Charter Authorizing Panel, which voted in April to revoke the school’s charter because of concerns over governance, finances and academic performance at the school.

The school serves 160 students in sixth through eighth grades.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2smjeTc ), the school must report back to the state board by November on student performance on state tests. Covenant Keepers is one of about a dozen schools in Arkansas that are considered academically distressed because of test scores.
