QUINCY, Mass. (AP) - Police in Massachusetts are seeking the public’s help in finding a woman they say claimed to be blind so she could rob a waitress.

Quincy police say the suspect walked into a Friendly’s Restaurant on Sunday night, told a waitress she was partially blind and asked to be escorted to the bathroom.

Once in the rear of the restaurant near the ladies’ room, the suspect pulled a knife and robbed the waitress of her tips and customer payments.

The waitress, a 17-year-old high school junior, told WFXT-TV that she was terrified and has since left the job.

Police posted surveillance images of the suspect on Facebook. She is described as a white woman with dark hair and a medium build, wearing black pants, a black jacket and a pink T-shirt.
