CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A hospital in Camden is honoring the life of its former chief executive who was found dead along with his wife in their home in 2014.

Cooper Health System has renamed one of its buildings the John and Joyce Sheridan Health Center. The change formally took place during a ceremony Wednesday attended by Republican Gov. Chris Christie and five former governors.

Authorities initially found John Sheridan had killed his wife and then himself after setting their house on fire. But that ruling was overturned in January by New Jersey’s medical examiner.

That decision came after the Sheridans’ four sons accused a prosecutor of jumping to conclusions about their parents’ deaths.

Sheridan joined Cooper in 2005 after serving as the state’s transportation commissioner and chairing the board of New Jersey Transit.
