KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon man has been charged with two counts of animal neglect following the deaths of two dogs that were left unattended in a warm vehicle.
The Herald and News reports (https://is.gd/jUVl77 ) 57-year-old John Harrison of Klamath Falls pleaded not guilty Thursday.
Chief Animal Control Officer Jim Nielsen described the scene as “pretty rough,” saying the border collie and a Rottweiler mix tried their best to escape the car that was parked outside a funeral home on May 3.
Harrison is scheduled to return to court June 13. Judge Marci Adkisson said Harrison can’t own pets while the charges are pending.
If found guilty, Harrison faces up to a year in jail on each count.
