BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - A $32.5 million settlement has been reached in a lawsuit involving two crashes - including one that killed on off-duty police officer - on a steep road in Beverly Hills.

Los Angeles police Officer Ernest Allen was killed in May 2014 when his personal vehicle was smashed by a cement truck. The truck driver, Brandon Cascio, has been in a vegetative state ever since. Another truck driver, Eric Johnson, was also hurt in a wreck on the same street. He drove into parked cars to stop his descent.

All three entered into a lawsuit against Beverly Hills and have now settled, KTTV reported Tuesday (https://bit.ly/2q2NWT3 ). The city says the settlement will be mostly covered by insurance.

Meanwhile, the family of another man killed in a similar crash on the same street months earlier have their own lawsuit that’s pending.
