SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 29-year-old man was killed in a crash that shut down part of a highway during the morning commute south of Salt Lake City International Airport.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the man’s car collided with a semi-trailer truck shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday on the Bangerter Highway near California Avenue.
Investigators say the car was dragged about 60 feet and ended up wedged beneath the truck’s trailer. Emergency workers found the man dead inside the wreckage. His name has not been released.
The incident closed both the southbound and northbound lanes for several hours. The patrol suspects one of the vehicles ran a red light, but an investigation is continuing.
