LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say a man who was shot while being held up at a gas station managed to drive away from the scene before crashing into a nearby pharmacy.

Officials say the victim was robbed and shot late Tuesday while leaving a convenience store at the gas station in South Los Angeles.

He drove off but crashed blocks away. Police said Wednesday that the victim is stable after undergoing surgery.



Investigators have not released a suspect description.
