FRONT ROYAL, Va. (AP) - A teenage boy has been charged in the death of a woman in Front Royal.
Media outlets report the Front Royal police say in a statement that a 17-year-old boy was charged with second-degree murder in 19-year-old Leah Adams’ death.
Officers responding to a possible hit-and-run Saturday found Adams with serious injuries. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Police say they also found a 17-year-old boy nearby with minor injuries. He was hospitalized and later taken into custody.
Authorities found Adams’ car, which had some damages. However, police say her injuries were inconsistent with a hit-and-run or vehicle crash. Officials haven’t said how she died.
Investigators say Adams and the teen were involved in a fight in the roadway before officers were called.
Additional charges are pending.
