DENVER (AP) - Authorities say a suspected drug dealer died after he was shot with a stun gun during a confrontation with police in Thornton.
The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/bSP0Ne ) officers responded to a possible drug deal in the parking lot of a convenience store Thursday, and one of the suspects began fighting with police.
Police spokesman Matt Barnes says a Federal Heights officer fired a stun gun at the suspect, who immediately “experienced a medical episode.” He died at a nearby hospital, and three of the officers were treated for injuries and released.
Officers recovered a large amount of money and what are believed to be narcotics from the suspect’s pickup.
His name and age have not been released.
