COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon school district superintendent has been cleared by her school board of any wrongdoing after she had a romantic affair with a subordinate.

The Register-Guard reports (https://bit.ly/2raeJir ) South Lane School District Superintendent Krista Parent was cleared on Wednesday.

Brian McCasline, the district’s director of human resources, said in May that the district hired a licensed private investigator to conduct an investigation into a formal complaint that was filed with the board on May 2.

Cottage Grove residents Jennifer Holloman and Chris Holloman filed the complaint against Parent.

They claimed Parent has a romantic relationship with a subordinate employee.

Trent Danowski, a deputy director for the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, said his agency’s rules don’t address personal relationships between school and district personnel who are adults.
