LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - University of Wyoming administrators expect to enroll the biggest freshman class in school history even as they have to make do with budget cuts.
The Office of Academic Affairs estimates UW will welcome up to 1,750 incoming freshmen in the fall. That would be a 13 percent increase from last year.
Meanwhile, the university recently cut funding for every division and college on campus. The Laramie Boomerang reports (https://bit.ly/2qTLT1A ) the school also recently eliminated 370 positions through incentives, layoffs and normal attrition.
University officials expect total enrollment to remain flat due to lower freshman enrollment in recent years.
