MOORESVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina man who authorities say ran over and killed another man has been charged with second-degree murder.

Media outlets report that Iredell County Sheriff’s deputies responded Saturday to a report of a man being struck by a vehicle. When the deputies arrived on scene, they found 32-year-old Clinton Whitley lying in the road with injuries from the alleged incident.

Investigators say they determined the driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Mooresville resident Davidson Christopher Hollister, didn’t slow down or stop after hitting Whitley. The two allegedly attended a party earlier in the evening and had been arguing.

Hollister has been charged with second-degree murder and felony hit-and-run. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
