NEW YORK (AP) - A crash near the George Washington Bridge triggered a major traffic jam leaving commuters inching ahead for hours between New Jersey and New York.

New York City officials say Tuesday morning’s crash on the Cross-Bronx Expressway, which temporarily shut down all lanes, created a two-hour backup on the upper level of bridge.

Alternate routes also became congested as drivers rerouted.

Police say three trucks were involved in the crash, which happened before 5 a.m. It’s not clear if anyone was hurt.
