TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tempe are trying to identify a baby girl found abandoned in a city parking lot.

They say the newborn was found Sunday night by a pedestrian who was walking through the area.

Police say the baby was wrapped in a blanket and placed inside a backpack and put in a shopping cart.



They say the child was taken to a hospital and is in good health.

Police say they’re seeking assistance from the public in identifying the baby.
