NORTH AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Long Island police have identified a man who was hit and killed by a car as he crossed a street.
Suffolk County police say 40-year-old Rigoberto Galdamez-Lopez, of North Amityville, was pronounced dead at a local hospital late Saturday night.
Police say the driver of the car that hit Galdamez-Lopez has been identified as 69-year-old Brenda Recine of Wyandanch (WEY’-ehn-danch).
Recine was not hurt in the crash and remained at the scene. Her car was impounded for a safety check and the crash remains under investigation.
