JENNINGS, Mo. (AP) - A suburban St. Louis narcotics suspect who collapsed during police questioning has died and a police dog is being treated for drug exposure.
St. Louis County police said in a news release that 44-year-old Dwight Bradley appeared to suffer from a seizure early Monday. He collapsed as he spoke to a detective after a search warrant was served at his Jennings home. Officers removed handcuffs from Bradley and administered two doses of the anti-overdose drug Narcan. Bradley regained a pulse while officers performed chest compressions but died a few hours later at a hospital.
The release says a police dog was taken to an animal hospital after coming across what was believed to be an open bag of drugs. The 3-year-old Labrador retriever will be held for observation.
