ULSTER, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 17-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a vehicle while walking alongside a Hudson Valley road.

The Daily Freeman of Kingston reports (https://bit.ly/2rJvZHz ) the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office says Jennifer Curry, of Kingston, was walking north on the shoulder of the southbound side of a road around 2:30 p.m. Thursday when she was hit by a car.

The teen was taken by ambulance to HealthAlliance Hospital’s Broadway Campus in Kingston, where she was pronounced dead.



The 69-year-old Kerhonkson woman driving the car hasn’t been charged.

Deputies say a state police accident reconstruction team is investigating how fast the car was traveling and whether the driver was in her lane when it struck the girl.
