JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Juneau police say a man clearing land died when he was crushed by a tree that fell on him.

Police Lt. David Campbell tells the Juneau Empire (https://bit.ly/2sZsHU1) the 36-year-old man was cutting trees by himself June 15 in the Sunny Point area. A person nearby heard him call out for help.

Officers found the tree on the man’s legs.



Emergency personnel could not resuscitate him and he was declared dead at the scene.

Police spokeswoman Erann Kalwara said Friday the man’s name was not released.
