ESTERVILLE, Iowa (AP) - Police say a car drove through the front glass doors of a grocery store in northwestern Iowa, injuring two people.
Television station KCAU reports (https://bit.ly/2tyQ3Od ) the crash happened just before 9 a.m. Thursday at the Estherville Hy-Vee grocery.
Officers determined the driver was trying to leave the parking lot when he accelerated and drove into store. The car then spun around inside the store and hit a steel support beam before stopping.
A man and a woman suffered minor injuries. The driver, who was not injured, was ticketed on suspicion of failing to maintain control. The crash caused about $27,000 in damage.
In December, a pickup crashed into a southern Iowa Walmart, killing three people. Police determined that crash was an accident, and no charges were filed.
