LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado congressman is asking for Russia’s help in finding a Littleton climber who disappeared while trying to climb that country’s highest peak.
Rep. Mike Coffman on Wednesday asked the Russian ambassador for all possible helping finding Steven Beare. Beare is a Littleton police officer who went missing while climbing Russia’s Mount Elbrus on June 16. Mount Elbrus’ summit is at 18,510 feet.
Severe weather has been reported on Mount Elbrus. That has hampered efforts to locate Beare.
