WASHINGTON (AP) - A Prince William County resident is trying to pay off school lunch debts owed by local students.

WTOP-FM reports (https://bit.ly/2tCvdwx ) attorney Adelle Settle is raising money to help pay the debts of students who owe $50 are more.

Settle said the county’s school lunch debts total $300,000, with a $160,000 coming from students who owe more than $50.



Settle and her friends previously raised $1,700 in 48 hours to pay off school lunch debt in at three county elementary schools.

She said her goal is to help families that are struggling financially.
