WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) - Utah authorities have found a dog that is tied to a fatal hit-and-run.
Police say 47-year-old victim Jeremy Hardman got out of his car last week to confront a man who he saw punching a dog on a street corner.
That man, 40-year-old Aaron Hosman, is accused of flipping a U-turn and striking Hardman as he walked back to his own car following the confrontation. Hosman has since been arrested.
Authorities say the dog was found safe and uninjured. It is a Chihuahua named Buddi.
Charges have not been filed against Hosman, who is being held in the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of murder, obstruction of justice and numerous automobile offenses.
The Humane Society of Utah has called Hardman a hero for helping Buddi.
