PHOENIX (AP) - An Arizona man is accused of killing multiple dogs and then leaving their bodies in a Phoenix trash bin.

One of the four dogs found was microchipped and police were able to identify its owner, 50-year-old Troy Sauvageau.

Police say Sauvageau told officers he shot and killed the other three dogs and threw out their bodies because they attacked and killed his dog.

Sauvageau faces multiple charges of animal cruelty, unlawful discharge of a firearm, illegal dumping and misconduct involving a weapon.
