PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Officials are investigating three separate fires that occurred in Providence over the past 24 hours.
Fire officials say the first fire was reported Saturday afternoon. The Providence Journal reports that neighbors told authorities that several people were living in the boarded up building originally believed to have been vacant.
Firefighters knocked down a second blaze early Sunday at a building also described as vacant. The Red Cross assisted one person who was displaced by the fire.
A third fire was extinguished later on Sunday morning.
No injuries were reported. All three fires remain under investigation and aren’t believed to have been connected.
