WASHINGTON (AP) — Amtrak says service between Baltimore and Washington has resumed after it was suspended while officials investigated a report of a suspicious item along the tracks.
Amtrak said in a statement Friday that a suspicious item was reported along the tracks south of the Baltimore-Washington International Airport Rail Station. Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari says service was suspended at just before 11 a.m.
Magliari says the track was cleared and service was restored at about 1:10 p.m. He says passengers may see some residual delays.
Spokesman does not know how many trains and passengers were affected.
