OKANOGAN, Wash. (AP) - Authorities in Okanogan County continue to look for a man who they presume drowned in the Methow River last Saturday.

Sheriff Frank Rogers says the missing man is 74-year-Alvin Hymer of Methow.

Rogers says Hymer, his wife and two dogs were along the river Saturday afternoon when the two dogs jumped into the water and got caught in an eddy.

Rogers says Hymer went into the river to help the dogs and was swept downstream.

The dogs survived.
