PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Firefighters have battled a blaze at a high-rise apartment building in downtown Philadelphia.
The fire broke out at the 12-floor Walnut Square Apartments in Center City shortly before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Smoke could be seen rising from the roof area. The building was evacuated.
Firefighters had the fire under control shortly before 8:30 p.m.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
