NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a man has died after a fire broke out in his apartment at a public housing complex in New Jersey’s largest city.
Essex County prosecutors say the fire at the Seth Boyden apartments in Newark was reported around 12:55 a.m. Tuesday.
Emergency responders soon found 68-year-old Tyrone Heard in his first-floor apartment. He was pronounced dead there a short time later, but a cause of death has not been determined.
No other injuries were reported in the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
