MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Montana authorities say a man sought by police in the killing of a woman last weekend is dead after taking his own life during a traffic stop in Missoula.
Missoula Police Department spokesman Travis Welsh said officers attempted to make contact with the man about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday.
The man’s name was not immediately released.
Welsh said that police had information that the man may have had a weapon and were also aware that the man was associated with a homicide investigation in Jefferson County. The woman who was found dead on the side of a road on Sunday between Butte and Helena has been identified as 45-year-old Cassandra Dean Morrison.
