SNOHOMISH, Wash. (AP) - The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 61-year-old man after he was found under a fallen tree.
The man’s wife called 911 around 11 p.m. Tuesday when she became concerned that she couldn’t find her husband and he wasn’t answering his cellphone.
A search of their property located the man face down under a tree with two chain saws next to him.
Deputies say the tree appeared to be rotten and the man sustained a traumatic head injury.
The man told his wife earlier in the day that he had planned to cut down a rotten tree on their property.
The man’s name was not released. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
