ATLANTA (AP) - Police say a police car struck a woman and crashed into a house in suburban Atlanta.

DeKalb County Police Lt. Lonzy Robertson told local news media the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when the 31-year-old officer swerved to avoid a vehicle turning in front of him. He then hit the woman before crashing into the front side of the house.

Both the officer and woman were taken to the hospital. Police say the woman is in critical condition and the officer is stable condition.



The name of the officer and woman has not been released.
